Inauguration day
Mood: Patriotic
Music: Ray Charles - America The Beautiful
What a historic day for America. Our first black president is sworn in today. He inherits two wars and an economic crisis. It will be tough and hard times ahead and many challenges await Mr. Obama during his four year term. I know many people see him as some 'savior' so to speak, but they'll have to realize that thing will not be fixed immediately and will take some time. What we have to do as American citizens is support our president and do to the best of our ability to help one another as we are a country that should be united.
I don't understand those who are ready to attack Obama as soon as he comes into office and are actually hoping for his failure. Why the fuck would you want? If he does a bad job as a president that means are country goes deeper into the shit hole. The economic problems don't get solved and people suffer even more. Is that the price you'd like to pay just to say 'ha I was right about him'? Really we should all hope that he does do a good job and insures that our country goes back into the right path and return to its glory that was lost during the Bush adminstration. Also, best wishes to Mr. Bush as well. Even though he wasn't a wonderful president he did what he thought was best for this country and even if I may have disagreed with numerous of his decisions, I think he's still a great person. Now he can enjoy his time on his Texas ranch with a well deserved vacation.
President Obama's speech wasn't powerfully moving as others such as FDR or JFK, but he got the message across. We have problems in this country that we need to fix and we should help each other on this long and hard journey to get back on track. A change is needed and the time to act is now.
