Good Night Sweet Prince
Mood: Sad
Music: Michael Jackson - You are not alone
Today, Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest, he was 50 years old. The news hit me pretty hard. One of the greatest (if not THE) musical artists of all time has passed away. It really is a day of mourning all around the world. Michael had a tremendous impact on music and millions upon millions were effected by his works. His music was moving, his dances were captivating, and he revolutionized music becoming the best selling artist of all time and winning numerous rewards. Even though I wasn't alive during his golden years, his music is really timeless as I love it and can listen to every damn track again and again. He dealt with all sorts of issues such as race, poverty, love, and anything important. He broke the racial barrier and paved the way for other black artists to get in and make an impact on music.
Yes later on in life he went through issues dealing with his skin, child molestation, and other negative publicity, but I won't bother with that since their is more into it then just the media makes it out to be. You'd have to really look into his life-especially his childhood and the dark corners of his life to realize what he had gone through. For now, I only remorse on this tragic loss as I listen through his songs.
Michael, you were one of the greatest people ever. You made music that is timeless and will be carried on for generations to come. You created many charities and used your fortunes to help those less fortunate then others. Through the many struggles and times of adversity you held strong. I am very thankful to a good friend of mine for being able to lay a flower in the hospital you were in. Even if I could not do so in person, it really helped and meant a lot. Even though your life came to an abrupt end so soon, you have found your place up in Heaven and can fine salvation. All I can say is THANK YOU for everything you've done and may you rest in peace.
Hail to the King of Pop.
